Ketubah Texts

“From every human being there rises a light that reaches straight to heaven. And when two souls that are destined to be together find each other, a single brighter light goes from their united being.” – Baal Shem Tov

EleyOri works with couples with all sorts of religious or non-religious and cultural backgrounds from the very traditional to the modern and alternative.

The options for Ketubah texts can seem endless. To make it easy,  EleyOri offers a succinct and comprehensive selection of text types that are easy to tailor to your specific requirements and vision. The Ketubah text you select should be informed by the type of ceremony you are having and should be something you discuss with your officiant before making a selection. More modern or alternative ceremonies will allow for greater flexibility and customization in the text selection.
Note that any changes or revisions that you may want to make to your text are included in the purchase price.

*A little tip from EleyOri- You don't necessarily have to pay attention to the titles, just take your time to read the texts and pick the one that speaks to your heart.

TRADITIONAL KETUBAH TEXTS

ORTHODOX
Translations: Aramaic only
The Orthodox text is written in Aramaic, a Semitic language closely related to Hebrew. It can also be available with an English section. The English portion of the Ketubah is not a translation of the Aramaic, rather, it describes the circumstances of the wedding (date, location, name of the couple).

SEPHARDIC
Translations: Aramaic only
The Sephardic text is the text required by most wedding officiants who are affiliated with the Sephardic movement. This text is based on wording from the Talmud Yerushalmi and is written entirely in Aramaic. The text does not include an English section.

CONSERVATIVE
Translations: Aramaic Only
The Conservative Ketubah text is offered in Aramaic with custom text in English. It is essentially the same as the Orthodox text and thus is written in Aramaic. However, the Conservative text includes an additional provision called the Lieberman Clause.

It is strongly recommended that you have your Ketubah proofread by your rabbi or cantor.
